Chatting to a couple of lads on Pitch Hill on Sunday and found out Coffin Drop was shut after someone paralysed themselves on it last year. Obviously not good news but does anyone know the details behind what happened?

Cheers

I know the guy really well, rode a lot with the Nirvana crows probably thenicest guy you will ever meet.

He is in a chair now but still very upbeat....very very humbling.

There was a thread about this last year. I know one of the paramedics that treated the guy.

The drop is on Hurtwood Control land, and the Control was obliged to close it. Basically, if people kept hurting themselves on it, they would be liable if someone - or their insurer - decided to sue.

Some reasoning straight from the horse's mouth on the Hurtwood Ranger's blog - worth a read through the whole blog, come to think of it.
