Fitting a clutch mech within a 2 x 10 system. Is / would a stinger type device still be needed or now redundant due to the clutch mech ?

got 2x 10 and had both XT and XTR clutch mechs and never dropped the chain on my Remedy. Go without for a few weeks if you are unsure, see how many times you would have needed it (or not)

Thanks so im taking it that the clutch mech has enough tension on the chain to prevent slap.

Don't know if it prevents chain slap entirely, but the clutch does make a massive difference. Much more quiet ride and I doubt I'd buy another rear mech without one now.
