So rode with a clutch mech for first time today. I noticed two things, one that it is so much quieter, two because of the reduced noise I was going faster and pushing harder in rocky sections.

The same applies if you put your cranks on backwards...

I always ride with earplugs - the only person pushing harder than me in rocky sessions is deaf.
