So, I’ve got my first new bike in decades, a Sonder Frontier. It’s great and I’ve cycled round the local woods east of Northwich every morning since.

It has started having a clunk in the bottom bracket area when peddling. If I lift the back wheel and turn the pedal by hand there is no noise.

Was there something I didn’t tighten up? I’ve not had a bike through the post before. Or is it something more serious?

Hi noob!
It may not the BB.. more likely a seat rail, pedal, spoke, headset, bars etc..
Its usually the last thing you think it is..

I'm in Weaverham chum. I'd take a look at it for you with pleasure, PM me if that's working at the moment or leave another message if not and we can sort something if you like.

I had a clunk for ages - turned out to the be star nut pre load thing come loose. Sounded like the back of the bike / so I’d check all over.

Thanks everyone and Tthew. After a few rides around the noise has disappeared. Did try tightening up everything. Hopefully just needed bedding in.

Now just need my lights to arrive and I can have an evening crack at riding in Delamere and Pale hill!
