30 tooth single ring set up
12/36 cassette
sram x9 rear mech

i like the single ring set up, but need a lower gear.

how do i do it?

40t expander cog on the back. Though does depend on which cassette you have. $2t also available.

From experience the X9 copes with a 40t fine.

cassette is a pg1030 sram.

do i split it, take a cog out and add the 40.

Think you have to keep the 11 tooth and ditch one of the others, does the locking not bite down on the smallest cog?

You can get a bigger lock ring that fits on the 13t and then slot in an expander of your choice
