In my mind these bikes can't really be 'classics' most have had newer parts added. A classic should be 10 years old plus, with (at least mostly) original parts fitted, it's like taking a mk1 escort to a classic car rally with some flashy new wheels and a cd player, just wrong - all you've got here (marin excluded) is old frames with some new forks/brakes etc.

Rant over - someone show us a 1970's super corsa with full record or a early 90's clockwork with full XC pro groupset PROPER CLASSICS.

My Dad's got a Kona Cinder Cone complete and untouched with Sun XC something-or-other groupo hanging in his garage. Bought in about 1992 and literally ridden all of 4 or 5 times and then sat gathering dust. The only thing he added was some slicks and a frame bag for the London-Brighton (which he did and felt so knackered afterwards that aside from a couple of outings up and down the road the bike was consigned to the garage)

I keep meaning to 'liberate' it. Thinking about it they're coming up to see us on Thursday, I may ask him to bring it up...
