Try www.roofbox.co.uk, they have a returns section where you can get a bargain.

I think I've got the 753 foot pack I bought off here and never used.
Edit Just checked, I paid £40, so that posted?

If I can mildly hijack. I have just bought a car which comes with longitudinal bars fitted. I want to get transversal bars for my toys. The prices seem to range from £20 to £300. Are the cheap ones to be avoided or are they viable?

jkomo - YGM
Scruff - depends on how much you intend using them, cheap is probably OK for occasional use, but likely to have lower weight limit, lack locks, be more noisey.....

Depends on the weight you want to transport, how nice you want them to look and how much you want to use them.

I have the cheapo universal steel bars on my car. They are a bit of a faff getting them on, so I just leave them in all weathers. They have been going strong for a couple of years and have carted roofboxes and bikes around the country without issue. They do however now have an aerodynamic bend to them and are a bit noisy, but at the price (about £20) no real complaints. Wouldn't leave anything of any value on them overnight as the locking mechanism is poor. Might push the boat out and get the aluminium ones next time.

Have always used Roofbox, great setup and good prices. I leave mine, and bike racks (3), on all the time and replace every 4 years/80k miles when I change company car.

I just googled my Thule bars to find the cheapest price and then ordered click and collect at Halfords. They begrudgingly matched the price as this is on the small print of their website.

Actually had an issue and had to get a replacement bit after a month or two but it they were cool about it, nice being able to drop it back if needed and there's a Halfords every ten miles it seems

I got some cheapish £80 'Modula' aero bars from eBay recently (to fit my Jeep with longitudinal roof bars), but they whistled like mad every time I reached >30 mph, even after I placed some strategic black tape over the gaps/seams.

Sent them back and exchanged for some Thule Wingbars and feet totalling about £160. No noticeable increase in noise and much more solid. (NP-autoparts was the seller, good service + very quick returns/dispatch etc)
