Anybody recommend me one? Tried using an Aldi bike comp with HRM I got last week but it's a bit pants as a HRM, keeps losing HR and you have to do a full reset/setup to change zones or switch alarm on/off.
Don't need all the bells and whistles just an alarmed zone which you can alter preride (or midride) and an audio alarm you can silence mid-ride if you want to. maxHR would be nice.
Seen this sigma 9, looks OK, anyone tried one?

Have used the Sigma 9 for over a year now. Excellent little HRM for the money. (Think I paid £29.99 at CRC for the old cream coloured one with a square face.)

No obvious problems. Would recomend the Sigma but if your budget allows go for a Garmin Forerunner 50. Its got some really trick software that allows you to link it to your PC. It produces slick little graphs of your performance etc. My wife bought one last year for £30 from Amazon. Must have been a bargain as I have never been able to see them again for anything less than £90.

Got one for about £12 from Tesco, yet to use it properly, but its looks as well made as a polar I had about 10 years ago.

Hikack:

I thought about getting one of these for training rides, to stop me over-exerting and blowing out. Is that a sensible idea, or am I getting the wrong end of the stick? Also, are they a faff/uncomfortable to wear?
