I'm thinking of getting a cheap HD cam to do some off road filming and was wondering if any of you lot had any experience of the cheaper end of the market? Can't justify the price of a GoPro or similar as it'll only be an occasional toy..

Hard to say if this would be enough but I've read about it over rcgroups (radio controlled) and it seems to perform very well for the price: the Mobius action cam. $69 US on Ebay.
If you or someone you know is going to the states, get them to bring you back a GoPro. They're much cheaper over there, $300 gets you a GP Hero 3+ silver.
I'm going to get one in April, have a play around with it and when I'm bored, I'll stick it on eBay for what I paid for it.
