Evening all,
Moon on a stick time; I’ve been given the task of coming up with a front light for Mrs BD’s cousin.
Budget is up to £50.

Apparently he doesn’t need it to use it to see with, just to flash and be seen by.
An internal battery is essential, but it doesn’t need to be rechargeable.

What would you recommend!?
Ta

I've just bought a BBB Signal. Nice light, decently bright good clear charging indication seems well sealed and has a nice strong rubber band mount. Last BBB light I had lasted donkeys years.

Also have a couple of Magic Shine commuter lights, but they need a backup as they have no real peripheral vision.

I’d buy a couple of rechargeable lights for that money - make sure they can be seen from the side as well as the front. £50 is a lot for front lights just to be visible with.

You could even go fancy and get an exposure Trace for that money - although I’ve no idea how bright it is. Evans cycles often have a load of lights on display you can play with.

Bontrager ION 100 and the matching rear are really good and would be around that money.

Unobtrusive, easy mounting, can be seen in daylight

This pair from Halfords looks to be a particularly good deal at the moment.

Me too. Not too bright, constant beam but with a pulse. Set them as wide apart on the bars as is sensibly achievable

I assume he's got rear light(s) already ?

... actually, I might be tempted to spend it on a reflective jacket/vest and some anklets instead or as well as a light

I’ve recently bought a little Knog mini chippy thing that incorporates a USB tang into the body and works really well. Light bright and unobtrusive. Approx £15-20 at full price iirc (mine came out of the bargain bin at Leusure lakes because it had a broken box)

This shouldn't be moon-stick territory at all, £50 is loads for a "to be seen" light.

Exposure Trace looks just the job?

Not used it myself but v happy with the Flash & Flare, Strada and MTB lights of theirs that I own.

Anything by Knog would be my choice I've had a couple of frogs for years, they seem to last for ages and are handy as the backup be seen light. If/when they die I think i'll get some Blinders or Chippy's

Bikehut ones are great. Good pulse light for day time and added bonus of being bright enough for seeing, if needed, plus usb charging.
