Well, I usually stay well away from the subject but it happened again today. Riding along the backroad which cuts our local park in half and a corgi-type dog runs off the pavement barking aggresively.

I swerved and avoided it but it started chasing after me, trying (I think) to bite my ankle - I just lifted my leg out of its reach... I could have hoofed it at any time but couldn't quite bring myself to do it.

Meanwhile, the owner, a largish bloke, mid-fifties was chatting to a young couple on the pavement. I suggested to him quite politely that the dog shouldn't be running around on the road, and that it should be on a lead if it's going to try to bite cyclists. He laughed, so I told him that next time, I would kick the dog in the face.

He walks towards me threateningly and asks me to repeat myself. I told him that next time I would kick HIM in the face.

At that point he walked off. But my feel-good ride was ruined - I had the rage. I have a dog and like almost all dogs but some owners shouldn't be afforded the priviledge of owning a dog.

Crap rant, just ticked off 🙁

Could be a kids leg next time. You should have hoofed the stupid mutt, it would think twice next time, likewise its owner.

Chin up though mate, next ride will probably be a good un.

I know the feeling.

I also know it's never worth commenting, just ride on. Karma will catch up with him and his dog. Well it would have, had you not commented. A threat of violence over something so trivial is plain silly. Even if your not a keyboard commando and have the ability to back it up, getting all hot and bothered about this kind of thing is a waste of time.

Put the kettle on and relax 😀

fil water bottle with your urine, leave for a few days then squirt at owner, add food dye for added anoyance.

or

slow down let the dog follow you and then the dog will be lost, or very tired when he is chasing after you.

Funny I was going to post a dog owner rant today too

out walking with our parsons russel and up bounds this huge fairly young
Lab with hackles up Paddy was on a lead and willing to have a go but I put myself in between them and shouted no to which the lab tried to get to paddy and he went mental knowing it would end in blood I just dragged him away and was fuming about to give the owners a right bollocking when they came round the corner . a very old frail looking couple full of apologies so I just pointed out they should have their dog on under control as the next dog and owner may not be as calm .

have been wondering all day which dog would have won if it had got to fighting.
