Hi, I have got 130mm RST Launch forks. As they are crap I want some more. I do dh, gt and trail centres etc. I was looking at some rockshox pikes 140mm but don't know what effects if any it can cause on my bike. Hope you can help.

only worth considering the axle to crown height, rather than 'travel' of forks.

a spanking pair of forks that actually work will improve the bike by far more than any change of geometry (within reason)

I ran Pikes for a year or two. They had way more ability than I have. Really good forks. Not tried the air varriety, but the coil ones were super plush. Really bomb proof peices of kit. I ran them in place of a 130mm fork, but mine had U-turn so could be wound down, but I left them at 140mm most of the time.
