[Closed] Changing a u-turn coil spring, how easy/hard?

Having put on a few pounds whilst off with a broken leg I think I'm going to have to fit a firm spring in my sektor u-turns.

I'd not ridden them before the break so I'll be keeping the medium spring but wanted to know how easy/hard the process is and do I need oil?

Any links to a guide? Can't find any on YouTube/SRAM etc

Thanks for any help

I undid the topcap on my Uturn Lyrik, pointed the front of the bike skywards, forks horizontal.
Swapped spring, no oil came out.
Replaced topcap.
Should imagine Sektors to be the same.Very quick and easy.

When you loosen the bottom bolt half way out give it a firm tap with a soft mallet to unseat the bottom of the spring assembly and then unbolt completly. Then take off top uturn knob and the spring should just pull out.

If I can do it (on Pikes) it must be easy!

I just did this on my Sektors recently and there is one extra step the RS instructions don't cover.

A quick call to Loco put me straight.

Basically my aftermarket spring didn't have the plastic top part. So I had to swap it across from one coil spring assembly to the other. It's held on by a small circlip. Not technically difficult but a bit fiddly. Took some fettling to prise it off.

I held the forks horizontal whilst I did the swap so no oil loss. Just applied a bit a grease to the new spring.
