In this case on a rear Shimano road wheel.
Do I just disassemble the non drive side cones and pull it out from the drive side.
Then assemble the drive side cones on the new axle and replace?
Sounds easy.

Pretty much, yes. Main thing to check is that they are the same threads, bolt up axles come in 9.5 and 10mm flavours.

And make sure your new axle is long enough to clear the dropouts with plenty of thread left for the tracknuts.
