In local paper today (Scotsman) 60 year old mtb'r from Brighton, anyone know any more? Always sad to read of such accidents, condolences to family and friends.

he wasn't a biker, he was on holiday and went to try biking. (We saw loads of this in the alps this year, French people who had no idea, on holiday, given a bike and an XC lid and thrown down the DH course over les arcs!!! idiotic people, as in bike shops and guides should know better that putting novices on DH courses)

i've climbed a indoor rock face, doesn't make me a rock climber!

as simon said (haha) already been done somewhere!

not hard to do in chamonix if you're not carefull.
mate of mine went over the edge on the brevent side a few years back after being told to chill out all week.he went over and landed on a ledge a way down. we all thought we'd see him at the bottom

Yes; he's a member of Brighton Explorers (which I am a member of) - it's a multi-activity club, which happens to have lot of MTB experience as well. No-one knows exactly what happened as he was riding solo, but he was not inexperienced. No further comment.
