Might not be the same one you're thinking of, loads of motorbike lubes were like that- I use putoline, brilliant stuff, best chainlube I've used by miles (but epic, epic faff)

There was an article on one of the roadie sites or mags (one of the last few Cycling Weekly?) saying that Team Sky are currently experimenting with one of the solid lubes at present that has to be melted first, you'd probably find something if you searched for that?

I tried that route with some grease I'd acquired. It wasn't until late in the proceedings that I realised it was high melting point grease. It was not a success.

You don't want grease though because it's sticky, wax and graphite and/or teflon powder is pretty much the same (I think) as the putolin stuff

I think I read that muc-off are working on a heat up wax, and they are now the pink stuff provider for team sky aren't they? So I suppose its not far fetched to imagine that sky are experimenting with it.

Good stuff, I use putolene in the winter and squirt in the summer.

That wax was great on the motorbikes. It works best when done on the kitchen cooker when your mum is out.

Use to be used before we had O ring chains.

And what you shouldn't do is drop the tin after it's been in the oven and all liquid... and then I burnt my fingers picking up the red-hot RD250E chain. 😳

I think I'd move house. Every time I do it I half expect to burn down the garage.
