Hi,

I Have decided that when head out to Morzine this summer I want to use a chain guide system to keep my chain on the chainrings as this weekend in the peaks I had the chain off boths sides of the chainrings at some point...

Frame: Specialized Enduro S-Works 05 with ISCG mount. 73mm bb width.
Chainset: Shimano XT 2012 2x10 (26/38t)

I have no idea what im doing when it comes to chain guides as I have never looked into it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Mike

Do you have a bashguard? You'll probably want one for the Alps. Easiest setup would be a Blackspire Stinger, they come in iscg, 05 & bb mounts and loads of colour choice.

I was looking at the E13 LG1+ chain guide it has a bash plate which would be handy as I don't think I can use a bash guard on my cranks (2x10)..

That's only going to work with a single chainring. You'll need something like this if you want to keep 2 rings & derailleur.

E13 TRS would be my choice for a 2x10. When they're available.

I use an E-13 DRS and a bashguard with my 2x9 and it worked quite well but still dropped a few chains on Whistlers braking bumps. The stepped roller doesn't really work that well in practice though, I always find it doesn't shift up to the inner roller section if you go to the granny ring and so it rubs more.

Gamut dual ring chain guide - I run one on my nomad c with 2 x9 set up. Prior to that I ran an E13 SRS+ on my 5 with 1x9 set up. Both good manufacturers but expensive.
