Running 1 x 10 with a Hope T Rex and fitted and new XT cassette and chain a few weeks ago. On the last few rides the chain has started jumping when on the smallest sprocket as if it's trying to change onto the next gear up. I have re adjusted the mech stop and cable tension so all gears are shifting fine but the chain is still jumping. Everything seems fine when the bike is in the workstand but as soon as I ride it and there exert any pressure the problem starts again.
As far as I am aware nothing has been knocked, I'm at a bit of a loss. Any ideas very much appreciated.
How's the chainline ?
Chainline seems fine. Have been running the same set up no problems for nearly a year. The only change has been the new cassette and chain a few weeks ago.
Release an eighth of a turn of gear cable tension....up to a full turn.....see if that cures it......I had real problems of skipping chain on a hardtail with flexing chainstays/seatstays and it was only after switching to a full length outer and making sure the cable was properly slack when in top gear that the issue of skipping was changed!
Will give that a try thanks.
