OK so I know this shock isn't that reliable or so the Internet says
I picked up one and to start with it didn't make any noise.
Now the noise it makes is kinda like a dry squelch if that makes sense. It is not the chirping noises or a wet squelch.
Any thoughts I pulled the sleeve off and greased the two seals in there and put in a blue bottomless ring. Maybe that's the noise I can hear
Any thoughts?
As the shock is new to me I not sure what a healthy one should sound like having comw from rs and fox
Cheers

It needs a service, it should be pretty much silent. Service interval is 100hrs which comes up pretty quickly. If you have the old inline model (hard anodised shaft not black) then when you get it serviced you can have it upgraded to the DBairIL which is the new more reliable version.
It's actually a pretty noisy shock due to its build. If it starts feeling shit then that's the time to get it serviced. I've had plenty of history with these buggers and the only way to sort a permanent solution is as Bedfo says get the upgrade kit.
You'll notice it gets more noticeable the more you use the climb switch, so lay off it.
Service it and definitely go for the iL update - I had one on my HD3 a while ago and the difference was immense.
