[Closed] Carrying a Bike with a Kinked Down-Tube on a Roof Mounted Bike Carrier?

The bike I need to carry is some kind of Mongoose full-sus (a mates). I'm sure the last time I tried to take it, the front wheel was hanging over the front of carrier too far...he had to take his own car instead.
The carrier in question is the type where you leave both wheels on. The problem arises due to the bike having to pulled further forward than usual, so that down-tube can fit in the clamp.

Has anyone found a way round this without having to change the type of carrier? I'm not averse to making something that will help, but don't want to spend much, if any, money on it (I'll only need to use it once in while).

Cheers for any help.

Can't you just slide the rails forward more?

No, but I've just looked at what stops them from moving. It's only a plate that is riveted on top of them...I might be able to remove the rivets and replace with a couple of bolts. Cheers.

EDIT: And then I'll just pray nothing comes loose. ๐Ÿ˜€
