Carbon repairs in Surrey?

Aaarghhh, my beloved 2018 Spesh Epic is dead! Can it be repaired? No idea how, but it has rubbed through the frame on the seat stay where the tyre passes it. Only discovered when sending the shock off for a service. Specialized quoted £750 for a replacement rear section, which would only be in black, not the lovely pink. Seems an outrageous price so wondering what other options there are. Does anyone have any recommendations for a carbon repair, if that’s even possible? I’m in Redhill in Surrey btw…

I need the hive wisdom to save me from despair! I love that bike 😫😫😫😫

If he's still going, Eddie's carbon bike repairs in Worthing has repaired much worse on some friend's bikes.

Not Surrey but it's only an hour away.

Also not Surrey but GA Cycles in Southampton - not a million miles away.

Surrey carbon repairs all the way, we've sent quite a few customers to them and they do a really good job. Not cheap but really good.

Have you sanded it to clean it up or has the tyre done that.
Surely that a chainstay 😁

Ha, yes, it would be a chainstay 🙄😂. No idea how it’s happened to be honest - I run 2.3 fasttrack tyres that have clearance, the only thing I can think of is when it’s been really muddy and clogged up recently, but can’t believe it would wear through the frame like that? Anyway, I’ve emailed Surrey carbon repairs for a quote, so we’ll see. Thanks for the recommendations, hopefully the pink beast lives on to race another day…

What's going on behind those paint chips at the bottom of the seat tube?

Something seems to be flexing way too much, crud build up on the frame and tyre would leave a scruffier, scratchier appearance imo, looks like actual rubber is taking the paint down to the carbon layer, I've seen similar but not as bad from heel rub on the outside of stays and cable rub, I think something else needs checking, otherwise what's to stop it happening again once repaired.

Thought I’d update this and give a big shout to Carbon Bike Repairs - all fixed and looking amazing, I’m really chuffed with it! I’ve also replaced the bearings whilst it was apart and changed all the cables so should be like a new bike when it’s built…

The shop said it was the worst tyre rub they’d seen, but could have been done in one muddy ride. So I looked back through my photos and saw this one - that’ll have done it, they said! Something to remember for the future!

Thanks for the recommendations for them, very friendly, helpful and great service, I’d highly recommend myself, and am amazed what can actually be fixed!

Oh and @qwerty I missed your question last week - I think you’re referring to the worst invisframe wrap in the world which is peeling off! It was a second hand bike that came with it and frankly it’s awful! I’ve taken most of it off now…
