Do you need some carbon 'paste' for a carbon post into an alu frame, or do you just use it for carbon against carbon?

TBH I just used a dab of grease on my carbon post in an alu frame, which apparently you're not sposed to do for some reason, but it was fine. Ran it for years like that without any problems. Post still in service in another alu frame.
