Really summing up whether to go Ibis tranny or Litespeed obed and run it as a SSSS (supersexysinglespeed:P).
Really want to try carbon as I have never ridden a carbon frame.
Really like Ti but really have an urge for plastic. 😆
I was hoping Ibis would bring out a fixed rear end ht carbon frame with real world mud clearance rather than that bolted back end with bugger all clearance for the mucky stuff.
Can that backend take the force a SS puts on a frame and dropouts are bonded or something, hmmm not sure about that but guess it works.???
OH and if anyone has experience of either then pitch in please won't ya!
go for a ti frame they are repairable and also they don't break as easily in the first place
I have been informed too that carbon is in fact repairable as you put it.
Can you expand on your last comment.
Trying to chose objectively between a Niner Air Carbon and a Salsa Selma Titanium at the mo (tough life).Carbon is lighter ,swoopier and very now.Ti is sturdier, more traditional and forever (maybe). Can't shake the feeling that the niner is just plastic tat glued together and will look very dated (and tatty) very quickly.....but my it is light!
Actually want a Vertigo Cycles custom but hav'nt got $4300 lying around.

Que?
Unless you are Chris Hoy i suspect any forces you put through a frame running ss will be just fine.
Ibis Tranny is cooler
Back from the pub to which I put the question too also. 😛
Yeap the tranny is cooler but Ti has that nice feel.
Not sure how the tranny will feel if you know what I mean.
Super stiff or flex in the right places???
When you crash a carbon framed bike on rocks it just sounds like someone has dropped their tuperware lunch box...
ti is timeless. and cool.
carbon will date quickly.
b r- 😆
Thats a good enough reason for me....now where did I put ison's phone no...
Ti, SS is not a fashion statement, it is a way of life*
*For those fit enough (not me then) 😉
Yesterday I all but finished my ibis tranny build. It's so quick totally stiff for good power transfer, but still feels complient. Will be giving it a proper run on Sunday.
Mud clearence is ok, but anything bigger then 2.25inch tyre won't fit.

Photos please, please.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH Ian, PICS LIKE NOW PLEASE!
It's decision time after this as it's either a new motorbike or a new pushbike teehee.
I only have atemporary build on it at the minute, I'm still waiting for the new 2011 xtr stuff to come through. Not particulally light at the minute weighing 26lbs, but it does abbé a very strong build on there.
Photos will be posted when the new xtr stuff comes.
If you are going to be such a luddite about things why not make it out of wood, or rocks?
*joke*
onceinalifetime, if you email me, then i'll send you a dark crappy out of focus pic that i took at 10pm in my lbs when the owner fnially kicked me out, by the way, that second hand one is overpriced.
