Should I put carbon paste on my reverb when assembling my new carbon frame to prevent corrosion? I read a few posts on alloy seat posts becoming stuck in carbon frames.
yes.
You should put carbon/assembly paste on any seatpost, especially a reverb.
Yup
Without doubt NO
Yes, and yes I've had alloy stuck in carbon. Call it galvanic reaction or not, whatever it was it was bonding to the carbon and needed chemicals, fire and swearing to unbond it.
Reverb post I didn't use assembly paste on has the same pitted surface where bonding has occurred, but I got it out in time. Since then assembly paste on all my Reverbs and no problems.
Use the stuff on alloy post to alloy frame also. Have had instructions on some posts saying exactly that (Easton post I think was one). Reduces clamping force required and even alloy there can be a reaction if there's enough difference in the materials.
Yes. My new carbon frame cane with a little pack of carbon paste specifically for this purpose
