Currently built my bike with coil pikes, xt wheels and groupset - absolutely love it as it can take serious abuse. However fancy trying to build it light and see what it rides like - have got 717's and was going to try air revs but I accept that it will only save under two pounds. Then came upon the idea of trying carbon forks - I will only ride natural trail in this guise. I accept the frame was never designed to be built as a whippet, so good idea or just plain stupid?

It'll rock. The 456 was designed backwards, so works great even with a 440mm carbon rigid.
