Ordered this fork to go on my Stooge:  https://icancycling.com/products/29er-tapered-carbon-rigid-fork-thru-axle

Have tried fitting it but it seems that the taper doesn't seem right and there is a good 2mm gap between the crown race and the bearing. It's like the crown race isn't thick enough (superstar headset - no issues on the stooge fork).

Any ideas?

From what I gather, ican are a fairly reputable place (following recommendations on here) and this was direct - not a cheap ebay £60 job.

So the shoulder on the steerer is hitting the inside of the headtube before the bearing makes contact with the crown race?

Yes, precisely that.

Watching with interest, I had one of these through the letterbox this morning. I've not tried to fit it yet. I'll let you know how it goes......

you used to be able to get 'tall crown races' the drawing on your link says there's 6mm of area on the steerer where the crown race can sit?
