has anybody done it? i have both the std and wheel mounted racks on the roof and just wondered which people have tried? are they safe being attached by the frame?

Ive used them many times in the past for my roadbikes, with no problems. Just follow the usual precautions of not overtightening, keeping the clamp clean of grit to prevent scratches etc.

I use a 591(?) with my mojo and it's not fallen off yet!
