I'm in the running for a new bike and am looking at the above two.
I currently ride a Canyon Nerve XC and looking to upgrade to more travel.
I can get the Rocky Mountain from Evans for roughly the same price as the Nerve AL. The specification is comparable except the Canyon comes with a Reverb.
Reading up on the Rocky Mountain it sounds like it will go uphills easier but is twitchy coming down whereas the blurb i've read from Canyon sates it does both very well?
Does anyone have one of these bikes and can confirm how it performs or can offer me advice on other bikes with around 140mm travel at the £2000 mark. I wll be doing the Passporte du Soleil at the end of June so looking for the perfect bike to do that and then use over here.

i have the alittude 50 coming downhills never seems to be a problem for me... the bike itself climbs great (if only i have more stamina-working on that)
thinking the twitchy feeling may have been from the 90mm stem and the 680mm wide bars both which i ditched almost straight away!, for a 65mm and 780mm bars. the only other things i have done it upgraded the wheels (but your starting set are much better than what was on mine!). added a dropper (ksi900r 125mm drop 385mm length) thats important as you can only stick 200mm MAX into the seatpost! due to the pivot point. oh and changed from 3x10 to 2x10 with a bash.
i do find the BB height alittle low (but that more likely to be my fat ass!)
