I have a spare reverb bleed kit and was wondering if anyone has successfully used this to bleed their avid brakes?

In principle, yes.
Major health warning though: your reverb uses suspension oil and your Avids use DOT brake fluid. Both are oils but must not be mixed. Personally I would never use a syringe kit I'd used on a Reverb to bleed my brakes because of this, but some will happily tell you it will be fine if you wash it out well first. Obviously if it's a spare new kit this doesn't matter right now... 🙂
