my mums bike is an old diamondback with 200sx running gear and the BB is well and truly dead after about 15 years.
I think it's cup and cone type, rather than a one piece unit. Can they be rebuilt with new bearings or is it a replacement job? (The c spanner lock ring was finger loose and the cranks were wobbling side to side)

or could I replace it with a sealed Sq taper BB ie. un26, un54 etc?
