IIRC you can but the price is near enough that of the whole headset so replace the whole thing. FWIW, I swap the top and bottom bearings round on headsets that have the same bearings (which the XL2 does) as the top bearings rarely die.

£20 for bearings: http://www.rushcycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b138s115p3444&rs=gb

£15 for whole headset... http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/HSFSOXL2/fsa-orbit-xl-2-headset

Wiggle do them, but it's probably cheaper to buy a complete headset from On One at the moment

edit: Too slow!

second edit: you can swap the top and bottom over, but in some variations of the headset there are slight differences between the bearings - I used two top bearings for a while, but the lower cup jammed on the fork crown until I put a very thin spare underneath. A proper 'lower' bearing fixed it.

Thanks for that, I'll just get a new one. It's crazy really, we live in such a disposable world.
