Are there additional cups that can fit on the standard press that I can use easily on the above now and again?
Or would this work ok?

I dont really want to pay out for another cyclus, park and the like presses as I will still be using the standard one.
Hi,
I've done exactly that by cutting suitably sized discs out of an old wooden chopping board with a hole cutter.
Haven't used it for 1.5" headsets but have used it for semi-integrated and it was spot on. I've also used it for pressing enduro bearings into shimano bottom bracket cups...

As it happens I made a related enquiry few weeks ago:-

I think those ebay things will do the job and they are a very good price BUT I wanted something as substantial as my current press parts. I may just get that ebay item and use the 2 discs OR in the fullness of time get some parts turned that will last me to the end of my days - just because I like little projects like that ;-).
I the mean time expect the usual replies telling you that two bits of wood & a hammer will do the job. Yes of course they will ๐
Great idea Stan_Dingup,
I think we have a cyclus one that the club owns that was becoming a little redundant as more and more folk have intigrated or 1.5 head tubes a fix like that could give it a whole new lease of life.
Yes ideally I'd like to get some substantial parts to add to the headset but might try something like the discs in the ebay one.
Haven't got a hole cutter so will try and found out where I can get those plastic & metal discs or probably just buy the hole thing perhaps.
If anyone knows a place that can make some proper additions I'd love to know ๐
What width are the bits in it just now?
You could look at getting something like this 8mm plate (if it is the right kind of thickness)
or this 12mm plate
And take it to a local machine shop with a little annotated drawing of what you want, for example the Outer Diamiter of the circles to be cut and the Inner Diamiter and they should knock them out in no time at all.
Cheers Rusty, funnily enough just been through the yellow pages to find one locally but couldn't find any!
Must be some about I'll have a look and make some notes of sizes with the headset press and frames.
Cheers
Once you have figured out what you want made it may be worth a Machine shop near ... required for a simple job tread.
This is something I may be able to do. HAve access to a machine shop and material so couls do some new press bits for cyclus presses.
Would there be anything else that there is a need for?
Thinking a single speed spacer kit..
Headset spacers
maybe in Ti, what else would be required?
Cant think of anything else I'd need but if you could have a look into the headset press thingy that'd be great cheers
