I am looking for a good bike stand that will hold the wheels of the ground for maintenance and be able to hold the bike upside down for cleaning. I would like a good quality one but that doesn't mean i want to pay the earth.

What do you recommend ?

Ben.

Why not? At the moment i am scuffing the seat and bars by turning the bike upside down on my gravel drive.

not sure I've ever seen a bike stand that will hold a bike upside down securely

you could always just use a towel to stop the scratching!

Some cracking deals at Ribble, I bought one for around £50 last year and wondering how I managed without one before Linky

Some of those stands at Ribble look good, cheers.

If the stand has a rotating tube clamp i don't see why it wouldn't be possible to attach it to the down tube holding the bike upside down.

I've got the boss 1200 one (under a different name) it's a good dependable secure stand and your bike can be positioned upside down safely.

If you get a half decent one, you can raise it over a couple of feet off the ground so you wouldn't need to turn it upside down.

I have the Park Tools PCS10, the clamp is very good and rotates.

This looks like a good stand, It looks identical to the Park tools stand.
