I purchased an Athena carbon power torque c/set and after fitting I thought to myself "ummm, I wonder how you get them off?" I have discovered you need to purchase an overpriced tool ~£100 to get the non drive side crank arm.
I love campag on the road bike, but you can't beat Shimano for simplicity when removing their cranks.
ps - anyone have a home made method for removing said campag crank arm that does not involve a hammer?
Yeah, done this too. I successfully used one of these with a bit of protection for the crank arm:
You can pick a single one up cheaply from your local halfords or similar. Not ideal and you need to be careful.
The joy will come when you need to replace the bearings, and the price of replacement chainrings for campag. Campag looks nice though 🙂 Ended up buying a 105 for all-round ease (even though rings aren't that cheap.)
EDIT: actually, you also need a stack of washers the right size for the thread to push against. Quite a faff.
Power torque chainsets are a complete pain to get off. I only run Ultra torque chainsets - very nice engineering.
Been there, felt the pain. I did something similar to faustus, IIRC I put a spanner across the crank so the puller had something to press on, and had to put a strap around the legs of the puller to stop them slipping off.
I also can't get on with the Ergoshift levers. I'm never having Campag again !
Ergolevers are brilliant, but Ultratorque chainsets are the only way forwards, the Powertorque is such a flawed system.

Unless you like to ride on the hoods, which I do. It's impossible to shift up without moving your hand back up the bars. I find Shimano waaaay easier to use.
Impossible is a big word - I usually ride on the hoods and have no problem shifting from there. Maybe it's you 😉

+1 no problem here and the shape of the ergos is great 😉
Both herself and I don't find shifting from the hoods a problem - she has small hands. Admittedly she runs EPS now and finds that dreamy...
What's really gutting is that I purchased the power torque to replace the ultra torque which had worn rings and it was around the same price for a whole new c/set. Maybe I should have just taken the rings off the power torque and put them on the ultra torque. If I get the power torque off I might just switch the rings.Power torque chainsets are a complete pain to get off. I only run Ultra torque chainsets - very nice engineering.
I use the TA Campag fit rings, they last for ages.
the alloy powertorque are even worse as there's no flat on the back for
the puller (of any sort) to hold on to
+1 to shifting from the hoods - easy as .... and TA rings are bomb
proof.

You must have a different idea of "on the hoods" to me ! With my hands on the hoods, i.e. in a position to use the brakes, the release button is behind the heel of my thumb. I can't see how anyone could operate it from that hand position ??
With Shimano I can shift up, down, or brake without moving my position on the bars. I can't with Campag.
I use one of these
with the edges filed down so it fits behind the crank
oh and a 14mm allen key, with the washer type thingy. The washer type thingy was a pukka part
