Right, I love the odd bothy/wild camping multi-day adventure, getting lost etc and want to head for the Cairngorm area later this year.
I've never been there before but fancy a week or so of off-road touring and messing about. I'd like to do a big loop with one or two bothy/wild camping nights on route, plus maybe use a bothy as a base for a few days good riding.
Can anyone offer advice on when to go, routes, area's to avoid, and er midges!? It will probably be September, but not sure how late to leave it.
Ideas?
We did an excellent 3dayer round the Cairngorms last year. In short it was Blair Atholl - Loch Morlich - Braemar - Blair Atholl. We stayed in hostels but obviously you could wild camp instead.
If you email me via my profile I can send you the route as a Tracklogs .trl (or anything I can get GPSU to convert it to)
I managed to empty the contents of a 3L camelbak bladder into my camera on the first night but here are some pics from day 1: http://gallery126268.fotopic.net/c1575877_37.html
