What a great ride. I'd read a post on here some time ago when it had been said that it wasn't worth doing... ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

A really good challenging climb up, not too much bike hike, some amazing views, some thick cloud at the top (to hide the ferkin massive drop offs !).... and the ride down; only the top bit was un ridable after that, techy rocky sections to start with then some good ST and grassy switch backs, then a great steep arse on the tyre drop to the brook. The only down side was that it is a pain to get to, especially when the roads are full up with caravans.

To fill the day (Caddir up & down only takes 2hrs and that's after spending 1/4hr talking to some Germans at the top)... I carried on to Coed Y Brenin and did some of that. Quite good doing a natural ride then trying out a trail centre to compare it to (bit hard on the legs though). Natural stuff wins everytime ๐Ÿ˜€

Highly recommended...

Prefer it to snowdon TBH as you can ride more of it (and its less busy), like you say the top / summit isnt ridable, but its great otherwise! The photos make me wanna go back as I've not been in the area yet this year ๐Ÿ™‚

I preferred it to snowdon as well, less people there as well.

Only one other car in the car park, no other bikers on the mountain and only 6 walkers (including the Germans)... The mountain was mine. Certainly no tourists with Tesco carrier bags full of Pringles to contend with like you see on mass on Snowdon !

(I thought CYB would be rammed too, warm day, bank holiday, I expected a car park full of German cars but it was fairly quiet !)

If anyone wants a GPS of the route for Caddris then drop me an e-mail.
