I realise it's now sponsored by CRC.
I wanted to know how the 50km night ride / race was as I'm thinking of riding the night 50km followed by the 50km the next day.
I'd normally ride the full 100km (?) distance as thought the 2x 50km would be manageable.

It pre-supposes some good lights - thankfully I have now have a 2nd battery for the Hope LED2's as I was finding them running low after 2.5hrs - 3hr rides this year.

its not the same as one normal marathon effort in my view chap i did it last year and the day time part proper hard.
bit shorter than a normal marathon but way more effort than a 50k race.
i am not sure on the total distance but it was hard.
i would normally do the full 100k at all the others.

i did it last year. same as you ti 29er , normally do the 100k but did the 2 x 50. the night route is similar to what you would expect from a merida day route , a mix of road , double and singletrack. quite a good atmoshphere and looks quite good at times when you can see lights zig zagging up and down hillsides.

top tip. dont drink too much energy drink or gels on the night ride or you wont get any sleep before the morning ๐Ÿ™‚
