[Closed] Buying a fork from bike24, warranty after Brexit ?

Thinking of upgrading my fork to a DVO sapphire on the Ripley.

Bike24 has the best price and Wiggle don’t price match anymore.

So if I run into any warranty issues will Brexit screw up returns ?

You should probably address your enquiry to No 10 Downing street, but its unlikely they'll have a clue either.

Price may increase in 2021 but I doubt there will be any issues around warranty/returns.
Why not ask Bike24?

Is the saving over buying from a UK supplier worth the risk, a risk that probably no one can answer (correctly)?

As an ex-swiss resident that imported purchases from the EU, from my experience the warranty stuff will be no issue.

The only faff will be with exportation/importation, and potential extra costs, delays and general hassle.

Your money, your risk. Maybe there'll be tariffs or a fee each time is crosses the borders. Who the f*** knows? 😝

Maybe it's worth getting out of this race to the bottom re prices and pay for UK supply? What's the difference anyway?

I prevaricated enough and thought sod it, life’s too short to worry about minutiae and bought it.

You'd potentially need to post it to bike 24 for warranty claims and they'd have to post if to you. So in the event you do need to warranty repair it it may be cheaper and quicker to get it repaired in the UK (depending on the issue).

Personally it'll depend on the saving Vs the risk.

I'm sure any reputable shop would honour the warranty. It will just be postage each way - which you would have to pay if no brexit anyway, although perhaps it will cost more who knows.

I've just ordered some parts from them today to upgrade my forks, will worry about potential warranty claims as and if its needed. I did ring and chat to them first and asked them, they couldn't foresee any future problems.

If anything you should be able to send it back to the Uk distributor with proof of purchase. The warranty is worldwide so it doesn't matter where you purchased it just as long as you are the original owner. I had a similar issue a few years ago with a set of Pikes from Germany, I just sent them back to UK Sram for repair with no problems.
