So... Bikeinn (based in Spain) have long been a legit (but sometimes slow) source of bike bits. Post-brexit, they state that all taxes etc to the UK are covered by them and included in the price. They have some very well-priced bikes at the moment (I'm looking at Specialized).

I'm aware that their "in stock" often means "our supplier has it so we can get it" rather than "it's here in our warehouse". They have delivery estimates (which look like they assume no customs delays because some say a few days, some a couple of weeks) which probably give a clue as to the true in-stockiness.

Plainly warranty returns etc. could be more hassle with them being based in Spain, but given that I'd be saving well over a grand, and it's not like I'd have zero warranty... I'm quite tempted!

Anyone does this? Would you?

Are they actually cheaper than you could buy in the UK, and for the model you're looking at, how much cheaper (vs the UK price)?

A lot cheaper, yes. Main model that I'm looking at is about 5k in the UK (though I think I've just found it for 4725) whereas it's 3685 from Bikeinn. If it was just a couple of hundred difference then I wouldn't consider it, just for the potential hassle factor.

I've bought stacks of stuff from BikeInn, and other than it taking a few days longer that what we are used to with CRC et al, they've been great.

If I was already over the hurdle of buying a bike sight unseen from an internet retailer, (I, personally, am!) I'd have no qualms uaing BikeInn, especially if the pricing was as good as it sounds.

Yeah, I would. I bought my last bike (full bike anyway) from Tredz. No issues with remote buying.

5K - is that an ebike or just a right nice manual model?

If ebike, with the associated extra risk of warrantee work, that could hugely complicate things.

If it was an e-bike then no, but if regular I would. I'd be the same if it was a UK-based online retailer too, simply because of my perceived extra chance of needing warranty on an e-bike.

is that just VAT or does that include import duty as well?

It's a buyer's market at the moment.. might be an idea to fire off a few emails to UK dealers to see if they can close the gap on price - you may find one that is happy to liquidate stock.

BikeInn have a warehouse in the UK, so they ship the order to the UK warehouse and send it out from there...the price you see on their website is what you pay for it to arrive at your doorstep.

As long as you knew the bike would fit you size-wise and it wasn't an ebike, then I'd be happy to buy from them.

Just be aware that if for whatever reason you need to return it, the cost to do so is a fixed price that they will apply. You cannot return via a 3rd party channel to save a few quid. It's their way or no way as I found out to my cost when I needed to return a jacket. It cost me about 15 quid to send it to their returns department (UK based too) when it could have been done with appropriate insurance for about £4. Check out any fees they may charge for returns before you buy.
Other than that though I've had a few things from them and no problems, but I'll only buy from them now if I'm certain it's not going to be returned.

Cheers all. (Indeed, not an e-bike, I'm not remotely interested in buying one of those!)

Thats good to know. I knew they had something in the uk as I had to return some bibs to them and it took forever as it had to be processed in the UK then again in spain before they would refund. I;d still use them again if the price was right and I wasn;t in a rush.

Seeing as I've been waiting well over a week for CRC (and Parcel Force) to actually deliver a bike to me it can't be much worse to get it from spain!
