I've decided I'd like some bullhorn bars for the ss commuter, but I'm running disks.
Stupid question, but seeing as they're generally aimed at road bikes, (where) will my levers fit?
Any recommendations on some cheap and cheerful bullhorns then?
Thanks!
as for horns look at the one23 range im asuming u mean cable discs? as u may be able to get some crosstop levers to work as tri levers if hydro then may only be doable on the crosstop if u have split clamp
Got a BB7 road as my front brake on my singlespeed. Levers on the points of the horns.
I've got a pair of bull horns which have mountain bike diameter in the middle section. It's a slightly heath robinson set up, but works ok. I bought these and machined a stainless sleeve to hold them together. Could be tempted to part with them as I don't actually use them at the moment.
Reviving an old thread, but I've just seen the new Bingo bar at On-one.
Looks like just the job and takes MTB levers to boot.
In their own words:
A handlebar that can be flipped between 2 positions:
1. Bull horn for long commuting miles
2. Back sweep for polo to get the riding position further back, or a more sit up and beg position.
This bar runs MTB brake levers at 22.2mm. It's ideal for V-brake and Disc cable bikes.
Clamp size: 31.8mm
Width: 42cms
Colours: Polished black, White or Hi polished silver

I saw those Bingo bars a couple days ago - been wanting a bullhorn bar for my commuter bike for ages but one which takes MTB shifters/brakes so thought these were perfect!...then noticed they were only available in 31.8mm clamp size and my stem is 25.8mm or whatever non-OS is...grrr, the wait continues ๐
Update: I remembered I had a 31.8mm stem in the box of bits so ordered the Bingo bars which arrived today. The MTB brake levers and shifters on my flat bar road bike fitted onto the bars fine (though I did need to take the windows off the shifters to fit around the bend).
The only problem I have now is that there isn't much room on the flat section for my hands together with the brake levers and shifters, (which I did suspect when I bought them but figured I'd buy and find out). Would be better if the bars were non-OS or just that bit wider, say 500mm wide. But for SS disc bikes, they'd be ideal. I'm going to try them out for a commute and see but reckon they're too narrow/cramped for geared setup so will likely be selling them on which is a shame
