So, the police have recovered my Prince Albert frame, seatpost and saddle. They raided a house in Bristol after a tip off following dodgy ebay dealings and found it along with several other frames and parts, all broken up to sell.

I'll post more details tomorrow when I get to talk to the police and give a statement, fingers cross, hopefully one Mr Big might be out of action for a while.

If you've had a bike etc stolen recently, might be worth contacting Southmead police station on 0845 4567000 (yes, Southmead, what a surprise...)

bad news sells I guess!

Anyway, having spoken to the police in Bristol today, they do have an officer who monitors ebay for dodgy bike sellers. They have a way of establishing where there are multiple ebay ids at the same address in particular. That's how they found my frame when they raided a house in Southmead.

Gives me some hope that the problem in Bristol might be brought under control a little

That's good to hear.

Good to hear the police are doing something too, could be an easy way to clear up a load of crimes for them if they can identify the villains from ebay and then just pop round and feel their collars.

Yeah, seems so easy Chakaping. that and a couple of convincing sting operations. With a bit of luck I'll get called to give evidence and get to meet the **** responsible.

Anyone what a red, medium PA frame or an Easton seatpost? Already replaced on insurance!

I had to undertake to the police not to sell the frame, so cant really part with it yet anyway.
