Reading a Tour de France book and theres a comment on the film Breaking Away....talk about a sudden blast from the past!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Circa 1984? Anyone else seen it?!!!
yeh - probably in 1984 on Beetamax.
Got it saved on my hard drive, was on telly a few months back.
nick is it worth rewatching or is it one of those best left up there on a 10yr olds pedestal?
FYI- I still think Logans Run is tops after all these years as a guide (if it helps)
Dunno, not watched it yet!
From what I've heard, yes it's worth watching, but I bet it isn't as good as Logan's Run (although, fingers crossed the remake could be better but not in a classic 1970s pre Star Wars/Alien kind of way)
Who's remaking Logans Run???????????????
The original is classic
Re Breaking Away, there was a funny piece in Road Bike Action about a year ago about a roadie who had somehow not seen the film. He confessed and was thereafter identified whenever he turned up at races in different states as the guy who hadn't seen Breaking Away.
I liked it at the time (probably at least 15 years ago) but I expect I'd be terribly disappointed if I saw it now. I even remember American Flyers* had some good moments!
*Is that right- the one with Kevin Costner and the Hell of the West (or something?)
I saw it again a few years ago and it was still fresh and fun.
Remake of Logan's Run? Who's going to play Jenny Agutter? It's just too much to ask. Anyway wasn't The Island just a thinly disgisguised LR?
I've not been to the cinema for ages due to 2 yr old and no baby sitter issues and haven't seen the remake of The day the earth stood still. From what I hear it's a complete waste of time. True?
Oops sorry - gone off in a tangent. Mmmmm Jenny Agutter
