My cannondale R500's got a mudguard/pannier threaded hole in the LHS dropout, but not the right, presumably a cost saving thing and the dropouts standard on another bike too.
Anyway, can a threaded eyelet be brazed/welded/glued onto the other dropout? without killing me? If the answer's yes I might get 2 put on and a second one on the non drive side for mudguards.
Anyone recomend a glue strong enough to do this? Would normal epoxy resin+thickener+catalyst be strong enough? Or is it definately going to need some welding? Or the third option, anyone got any carbon fiber and a spoon I could borow?
I consider this guy to be an aluminium welding god. He repaired a cracked seat/top tube on my full suss 12 months ago.
