Tricky to know what to do

I've been riding Hope mono mini pros for 3 years. Was pleased at first...but having ridden friends bikes recently with XX and R1's, they don't seem to cut it as they once did. Hav tried all sizes of rotor and all types of pads.

Question I need help answering us why, technically, will the SRAM/Avid or Fomula brakes be any better? Do they have bigger pistons? Less flex? More contact area?

Any advice gratefully appreciated...

Fresh fluid and maybe a seal kit would be my suggestion. As the fluid goes off, it's a gradual decline. It's not until you change it that you realise what a difference it makes.

Are the V2's the same as the mono mini's? Maybe they had bigger pistons in the first place? Not sure.

Thanks. I'll give them a bleed and take stock. For future ref does anybody have any first hand experience of either the XX or the R1's ( or know of any recent reviews/tests). Thanks

I have the R1's on my Anthem. Awesome brakes, so much stopping power, especially considering their size. Second only to Formula the ones on my zesty. Expensive though.
