So my frame has enclosed guides on the top tube for the rear brake. These are on the left-hand side of the frame, I run my rear brake on the left (as do most I think?)... with the brake line, I can either loop it round the right side of the stem and back to the lever, or stay on the left and go straight in? Is there a standard? Or just what looks best/right to each individual?
To me, running it straight to the left looks weird... but maybe that's just because I'm not used to it? What do ya'll reckon? Here are a couple of pics to compare...
cheers ๐
less cable rub with top pic
I'd expect the left routing to cause problems when you turn to the right with the cable not having anywhere to buldge out to. You may get excessive cable rub. Only thoughts though as no idea really
Top pic is the way to go.
I think they're designed for non-uk (i.e. rear on the right) routing where they'd work fine.
I run mine to the left of the head tube never had any problem's turning right.
you could always use additional hose guides? Might give a smoother path to prevent wear to the frame.
hmmmm... still undecided ๐ I guess I'll try both and see, not exactly difficult to switch it around ๐
