[Closed] brake & gear shifter compatibility with bullhorns

I'm in the process of doing a custom build (Road bike from a mtb frame) but have come across a few problems. I was going to use drop bars but I cant find sti shifters compatible with Paul MotoLite v-brakes without having to use a travel agent pulley.

I have now opted for bull horns and am hoping to fit Shimano mtb shifters & brake levers on but i've read the diameter of the bullhorns are too big for the shifters. Another concern is getting the shifter around the bend. Any idea's. Cheers
