Hi all,
I have next week off. I am planning to go to BPW as I've never been before. Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay for 1 person that would possibly have bike storage? I'm all too aware of thefts at places like this and would rather mitigate the risk as much as I can.

Me and my mate did this last week, wasn't brave enough to ride down the stairs on the way out as was scared of getting a bollocking off of the pleasant but stern looking lady on the front desk. We always used to stay at the premier inn, but the travelodge has the bonus of being close enough to town to walk to the new crown for a lovely chicken and steak espetada.
Last time I went I stayed in the Travelodge nearby, just wheeled the bikes into the room and didn't get stopped or asked about it by reception. Before that I did a whole week around Wales with the bikes in the Travelodge rooms as well! Admittedly this was a few years ago but assuming you can still do this.
Not as near as Merthyr but Ebbw Vale Premier Inn has plenty of spaces, a chain pub/restaurant next door and will let you reserve a ground floor room so you can wheel your bike(s) in easily.
Premier Inn for me. It's a sub 5 minute drive to BPW.
If I want to go into town for food and drink I'll just drive and park at the big Tesco.

I've always used the conveniently close Premier Inn Merthyr or the Ebbw Vale one if it is significantly cheaper (their prices vary from one visit to the next). Â Not used Travelodge but not a fan of their recent publicity re security
Always use the Premier Inn (almost) over the road. Only down side is that it leaves the only evening food place as the on-site Table Table which is average at best. They're totally cool with (clean) bikes in rooms though (all Premier Inn's are) though, breakfast is ok and there's a Co-op 2 minute walk away so you can stock up on lunch food/snacks before you head into the park - saves you paying extortionate prices for poor food.
Bit further afield but on the Heads Of The Valley road, theres a Premier Inn just outside Abergavenny which I'm told is a walk into town where there are some decent eateries so might try that next time (but its a 30 min drive into BPW but at the end of the day, 5 mins vs 30 mins on a morning before riding is nothing and uplifts don't start until 10 anyway).
I know I could Google this, but I'm going to hijack the thread a bit... Any recommendations for nearby campsites? Could do with somewhere within riding distance preferably and with facilities, thinking I'll take my daughter during next half term
This was a good campsite. Looks like they're out of action which is a bummer as I was hoping to stay there in a couple of weeks.
