Cable clamp is at the wrong end, my dropper has the nipple in the post and the cable into the lever held by a grub screw. Could I mod this to work in that way? How?
Confused, that looks like the V2 lever and if so it has the grub screw in the lever end. The pic on crc shows it. The
v1 lever had the barrel end in the lever IIRC in which case you’d need to budge a solution at the Dropper end. Google cable barrel clamp or look on eBay.
Send it back and buy one of those knock off wolftooth levers from eBay for 15 quid!
It's the right lever, V2 Ascends flipped the cable. The cable nipple just rests in the post actuator, it's a bit gross but they don't fall out and operation is smooth.
If you find that displeasing use your old post end barrel and pinch at both ends. Just fix the post side first and then carry on as normal. But I would just do it the first way.
If you have an external post then I have for you a brand new Brand X lever kit which you can have for £9 posted!
👍😊
I’ve just ordered and received the same thing, mine came with a barrel grub screw thing, what looks like a nipple adapter thing and a ferule. Looking at it you should be able to run the cable either wsy, I assume to maximise compatibility with other brands posts?
Mine is a 1x too just in case you’re wondering as forgot to mention! 🙄
😂
Drill sorted it 👍🏼
You literally didn't have to drill anything? What I said above is from the BX manual.
This is what I love about stw.

@pigyin i think on this occasion you are incorrect. I have the post where the cable nipple fits into the post its self. The Lever i had held the nipple also so to use the barrel nut from my old lever to secure it in the lever end i had to drill the hole in the lever to allow this to fit (only needed to be 0.5mm bigger but under no circumstances would it have fitted into the hole in the lever!! So in response to @tdog, i didn't read and discard i read, looked, thought, made it work, sorry 🙂
The last three we bought would take a cable nipple or a barrel nut at the post end. CRC confirmed this and all ours are fitted with the barrel nut at the cable end so that we can still use the Specialized Command lever.
I can't see a barrel nut at the post end but TBH not looked dead hard. No problem anyway as it is all working and fine (this is a none stealth/hidden cable one if that makes a difference)

Mine inside the post - not sure how I’d manage to clamp a cable without nipple??
On the external post the cable nipple goes at the post end as per your photo above.
The cable is clamped at the lever end by the barrel / grub screw. One should have been supplied with the lever you bought as per pic 2 on CRC & then this fits in the hole on top of the lever.
Definitely no need to drill anything but at least you’ve sorted it now.
