Do you bother? If so how often.
I've had my bike for nearly 4 years, ridden in every condition. Given some tlc like new chains and a quick wash every now and again but never serviced the headset or bottom bracket. The bike has been making some creaks recently and thought that I probably should undertake some more comprehensive tlc.
What do you reckon?
I'll sometimes crack open a Shimano BB to re-grease, but don't think it makes a massive difference. With a hope one on another bike I just leave it til the bearings obviously need changing - which is quite some time 🙂

When I am changing chain rings ,I usually check the BB.
BTW ..What are peoples thoughts on push fit,are they here to stay ?
I don't have one on any of my bikes,but there looks like less choice now on new frames.
