Boost adaptors rear...

[Closed] Boost adaptors rear - that put the cassette in the 'Boost' outboard position?

Do Boost adaptors which make the full 6mm adjustment on the non-drive side only exist?

With the exception of Wolf Tooth Boostinators which only fit specific hubs (and not mine), all adaptors I've found are 2 x 3mm spacers positioned one each side, thus moving the cassette 3mm inboard relative to a proper Boost hub. I'm having chainline/chainring clearance issues and would really like to get that casstte mounted in the 'Boost' outboard position.

Other than buying a new Boost hub, is there any way to get the cassette in the 3mm outboard Boost position?

Thanks.

Tried a 6mm offset/non boost chainring?

You could put all the spacers on the NDS, then dish the wheel over.

I've got clearance issues with the chainring/chainstay, so I'm trying to keep the whole drivetrain as far outboard as possible. Currently running the chainring in outer position on a non-Boost triple-ring SLX crankset, but I'm considering a Boost SLX crankset with 53.4mm chainline in addition to whatever I do at the rear.

You could put all the spacers on the NDS, then dish the wheel over.

That's what I've been thinking about: putting both 3mm spacers on the non-drive side and adding 2 x 3mm disc adaptors. Obviously I'd need even longer rotor bolts than come with the Boost kits.

How come you're having clearance issues? Are you using a boost frame with boost cranks? Are you trying to run a big chainring and it's very close to the chainstay?

Boost frame, currently non-Boost cranks, and big chainring (currently 38t) on a frame that turns out isn’t designed for it I guess - little knowledge/info available on the frame before I bought (Titus Mutsu, Planet X copy of Sonder Broken Road).

@mos, my apologies - I've just looked at your link in more detail and spotted what I missed earlier. They sell a 'rear (dishing required)' option that includes 2 x 3mm axle spacers AND 2 x 3mm 6-bolt disc adaptors. Perfect, thanks.

You might not need a full 6mm of rotor spacers, I'm running a boost conversion, 3mm extra either side but only need 1.5mm rotor spacer, my caliper sits more central on the post mount adapter only using 1.5mm so you could possibly get away with only using 4mm of rotor spacers.
But the 3mm re-dish might need longer driveside spokes.

38T chainring! You must have legs like Chris Hoy.

I've just used the Velo Solutions "dishing required" kit and it worked a treat.

Shifting was spot on straight away and re-dishing the wheel was pretty straightforward

Good point regarding possibly not needing the full 6mm of rotor spacers.

Yep, legs like Chris Hoy. Maybe not like that Chris Hoy, but I'm sure my chicken legs are easier to find trousers to fit! 38t cos it's my commuter/fun bike ('gravel'...).

Reason I want the cassette outboard as possible is so I can run with a chainring as far outboard as possible to maximise chainstay clearance, without knackering the chainline. Chainring is currently in outermost position as there's insufficient clearance even with a 36t in the middle ring position; I'm hoping a Boost crankset would put the ring somewhere between.

36t ring in middle position (too tight to risk riding like that):

And 38t chainring in outer position, but it's too far outboard and is dropping the chain off the inside when using the top 3 cassette cogs:

There isn't even .5mm difference in spoke length if you re-dish the wheel 3mm. It will be fine
